Midland festival brings storytellers to STEM Academy students

Barbara McBride-Smith and Charlotte Blake Alston visited the Midland STEM Academy in Odessa Midland for Education Connection Day. About 132 fourth graders heard folktales and legends in a technology free setting, praising storytelling and language development as part of STAAR prep.

Odessa College approves Sewell Auto Tech donation

Odessa College trustees approve donating Sewell Auto Tech property at 2425 E Eighth St on seven acres for a future auto technician training facility. Sewell plans a new 21 acre, 100000 square foot site at Parks Legado Town Center with a café, coffee bar, woodburning pizza oven, and a cappuccino machine. The OC facility aims to train students across West Texas and Eastern New Mexico amid a technician shortage.
