Evacuees sheltered as Gaines County well blasts prompt H2S risk

About 20 homes were evacuated in Gaines County as H2S gas was detected after a Tabula Rasa oil wellhead blast. Local residents were told to evacuate within minutes while the Gaines County Civic Building and Seminole Rodeo Arena opened to house people and displaced livestock. Wild Well Control teams assisted Tabula Rasa officials, with Tabula Rasa Energy based in Houston.
