Summit Power extension granted for Texas Clean Energy Project
Odessa City Council approved a one year extension to Summit Power Group’s land agreement for the 400 MW carbon capture plant near Penwell. The project, costing over 2.5 billion dollars, would create about 2,150 jobs during construction and operation, with contracts signed with HQC and SNC Lavalin and a pending agreement with Siemens. Officials say the extension preserves time for financial closing in spring 2016 while noting previous delays and labor market pressures from the oil boom.
