Death ends double crime partnership in Newark
Barbara Bissell 44 was sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading 13 counts of fraud. Her husband, the disgraced former partner, killed himself rather than face a 10-year term. The couple built a rich life in Newark while running a criminal gasoline and gambling scheme. Barbara stated she was not a reluctant participant and expressed remorse in court.
