A bear crafted Nativity display titled Share the Spirit is on view at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Midland. The fourth annual exhibit runs until Sunday with hours 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. Admission is free. for details call 432-697-6755.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints hosts its fourth annual Nativity exhibit Share the Spirit in Midland on Wednesday and Thursday. A Nativity re enactment runs Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 PM every 30 minutes and a children s room will be provided. President Jerry Zant of the Odessa Stake says the event welcomes the community beyond church members to offer a peaceful seasonal experience.
Jeff Ansorge once ran a 17 person staff earning about 80 000 a year as executive chef at a posh downtown Minneapolis restaurant. He left that to become head cook at the Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center in St. Paul where meals are free. For Thanksgiving he planned a traditional feast with turkey stuffing mashed potatoes gravy cranberry sauce and rolls served on white tablecloths. He creates meals residents would pay for, not a typical soup kitchen bowl of soup and bread.
