California Democrats fined for 1980 campaign violations
The Democratic Party of California faces a $7,000 penalty from the Fair Political Practices Commission for not reporting $92,867 in union printing work by Operating Engineers Local No. 3 during the November 1980 election. The fine may be halved if proper statements are filed for two years. Nancy Pelosi called the violations inadvertent and said corrections are underway.
