Midland teen shot in accidental apartment incident
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest at about 8 20 p m in the Avalon Springs complex in the 4000 block of West Illinois Avenue Midland. Police say a 2-year-old picked up a loaded handgun in the apartment causing the accidental shooting. The teen was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital for surgery. his condition was not disclosed.
