Beaulieu of America Pleads Guilty in Campaign Finance Case
Beaulieu of America Inc, a Dalton Georgia car carpet firm, pled guilty to violating campaign finance laws by reimbursing 36 employees for a 1996 Lamar Alexander fundraising dinner. The company faced a $1 million fine, the DOJ said one of the largest for such violat ions, while the campaign itself faces no fine. Carl M Bouckaert a national finance co chair for Alexander led the effort. The firm based in Dalton reimbursed employees with bonuses for attendance.
