Bus wreck near Livingston kills six on Trailways trip
Federal investigator Patrick Bursley said lack of witnesses and heavy damage hinder cause determination after a Trailways bus crashed into a truck north of Livingston. The bus carried 11 passengers and a driver Ed Perry of Houston, killing six and trapping two for 90 minutes. The wreck, on U S Highway 59, occurred about 5 30 a m during a Shreveport to Houston run. The front corner struck the truck’s rear, with passengers ejected and seats torn from moorings, complicating reconstruction of the moments before impact.
