Ector County Briefs Donated UTPB Site Case
Ector County files a friend of the court brief in the UTPB campus site case to defend the commissioners action donating 280 acres. The filing follows a Texas Supreme Court appeal by Hull and Midland residents challenging the county’s land donation for campus use. The brief cites Texas precedents and notes an incomplete record of commissioner actions. The case centers on whether warrants for park purposes justified gifting land for education and the ongoing public interest in Permian Basin higher education development.
