Tornado hits Plainfield High School area leaving deaths and ruin
In Plainfield Illinois a tornado tore through the area killing biology teacher Stephen Hunt and injuring many others. Linda Kinnikin survived after sheltering in a men's bathroom as debris shattered the science wing. The storm wrecked homes across Joliet Crest Hill and Plainfield, damaged over 1000 dwellings, and caused more than 100 million in damage. The region is declared a disaster area.
