UTPB seeks federal funds for energy and economic center
The Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission backs the University of Texas at the Permian Basin plan to apply for 100000 from the Economic Development Administration to fund the Center for Energy and Economic Diversification. Local match totals 90,000 with 60,000 from UTPB and 30,000 from Odessa Industrial Development Corp. The project adds a regional economist and supports 1985 established energy center data on 17 county area. Also approved: GOPE funding continuation for Head Start serving 330 children. grant for a regional solid waste study. and WTO Head Start expansion to 140 children in Stanton McCamey and Lames.
