Lottery question could lure extra 2 million voters

In Austin, Secretary of State Myra McDaniel predicted that a constitutional lottery amendment on the November ballot could boost turnout by about two million. She estimated 68 percent of registered voters would participate, about 5,101,438, versus 40 percent turnout, roughly 3,000,846, if gambling isn’t on the ballot. The Senate approved placing the question on the general election ballot.
