Odessa housing project extends to year with builder
Merita Sandoval says Odessa Community Development kept bidding until Burnett agreed to build six Bluebird Street homes priced about 85 000 dollars each. First Basin Credit Union handles mortgages and a nonprofit partners with the city to sell homes to eligible buyers meeting income and mortgage criteria. Construction starts in September and should finish in four months with Burnett noting the honor of aiding "people who are out there in the trenches."
