LA Teacher Rejected Over Recent Experience Rule
Richard er, a four year elementary teacher with a doctorate, was told he was not qualified for a full time position in Los Angeles schools. The district cited recent teaching experience as the reason, even though he had five years in programs. Superintendent Harry Bren responded by seeking to help but the candidate had already taken a hospital administration post. Bren noted a desperate need for qualified personnel and offered to help him obtain a position.
