Odessa College Trustees Weigh 2008 Tax Rate Change
Odessa College trustees backed a lower 2008 tax rate of 16.24 cents per $100 valuation, a 10 percent cut from last year, yet taxes rise about 10 percent due to higher home valuations and stronger revenue from mineral rights and commercial property. Public hearings are noon Sept 8 and 6 p.m. Sept 11 in the Special Events Room.
