Texas housing chief to resign amid spending concerns
Texas housing chief Larry Paul Manley will leave the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs on Monday to return to law and investment banking. Gov. Bush and aides faced questions after a Dallas Morning News report said the department failed to spend over 100 million dollars in federal housing aid, prompting scrutiny of Manley’s real estate deals and management.

UNT researchers study musician pains and holistic care
Physicians Rubin and Chesky describe a program at the University of North Texas combining medical care with music studies to prevent and treat musician pain. They aim to create a clearinghouse for performers, addressing instrument technique, possible instrument modifications, and broader issues like stage fright and mood disorders. The project leverages UNT’s medical and top music schools, Fort Worth’s arts scene, and external grants while surveying thousands of musicians online.
