Flora-Bama hosts church service with bar setting and open welcome
At the Flora-Bama Lounge on Perdido Bay a year old Sunday service blends church and bar culture. Parishioners in shorts and flip-flops attend under an awning as a band plays Curtis Mayfield. Offerings go into neon tackle boxes while pastor Jeremy Mount delivers redemption and communion with grape juice. Regulars and tourists alike describe the service as welcoming and unique, with attendees from all walks of life.
