Bear handling ends in deadly attack at Lorain County menagerie

In Columbia Township Ohio a bear killed Brent Kandra 24 during a routine feeding at Sam Mazzola’s private menagerie which housed seven to nine bears, 20 wolves and possibly a lion and several tigers. Neighbors complained of constant noise and danger surrounding the compound. Mazzola facing bankruptcy and prior animal related convictions. Authorities will review potential criminal charges.
