Weather delays shuttle's return Discovery mission
Space shuttle Discovery will wait a day to complete its trip home to Kennedy Space Center Florida due to weather concerns. NASA officials said the jet carrying the shuttle from California refueled at Barksdale AFB Louisiana while KC-135s monitor conditions ahead of the modified 747. The transit costs are at least 1 million dollars. The seven crew members previously landed at Edwards AFB on Aug 9 after weather prevented a Florida return on four earlier attempts.
