Minuteman volunteers train near Midland Texas border
About 50 participants gathered in a ranch barn southeast of Midland to hear James Simcox and discuss patrols for private border areas. Organizers stress lawful observation with background checks to keep racists out and to report illegal activity to authorities. Local officials praise the program as a supplementary border watch, not a substitute for law enforcement.
