NASA Navy rehearse Orion capsule sea recovery at Norfolk

Navy divers and USS Arlington crew carried out tests to recover an unmanned Orion mock-up from the Elizabeth River, reviving the 1960s 70s practice of sea splashdowns and capsule retrieval to support Americas space program goals. Adm Bill Gortney said the exercise mirrors the historic moon era recovery work.

Flight recorders found in UPS crash at Birmingham

Investigators recovered voice and flight data recorders from a UPS jet that crashed while attempting to land at Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport. The A300 from Louisville struck a hillside near the runway, killing two pilots as debris littered the field. Search was delayed by smoldering wreckage and continued into Thursday.
