Stop It Now Tackles Abuse Through Public Health Approach
Northampton group Stop It Now! runs a phone helpline to prevent child sexual abuse by engaging at risk individuals and guiding communities to intervene. Experts debate its public health framing, with supporters noting potential deterrence and critics urging law enforcement and social services involvement. The program aims to shift norms, similar to anti drunk driving campaigns, and features calls, role playing, and information packets for families and professionals.
