Ex-teacher says crash suspect idolized Hitler and Nazism
Florence Kentucky former Randall Cooper high school social studies teacher Derek Weimer recalls James Alex Fields Jr as an average student in 9th grade with a deep, radical race and Nazism belief. Weimer says Fields admired Hitler and white supremacy while embracing Trump and the Confederacy. Fields faces second degree murder charges after driving a Dodge Challenger into Charlottesville protesters, killing a 32 year old woman and injuring 19. Virginia State Police helicopter crash killed two troopers during the same weekend. Fields reportedly carried a Vanguard America emblem and was later released from Army basic training for failing to meet standards. His mother Samantha Bloom says she warned him to protest peacefully.
