Dallas seeks long term school chief after Rojas firing
Dallas trustees launched a third superintendent search in four years after firing Bill Rojas for poor diplomacy and abrasive style. Rojas, hired last August to replace Yvonne Gonzalez, sues over severance and pay. The district faces ongoing instability with 14 of the nation’s 25 largest districts making changes since 1999. A search committee is vetting five candidates from more than 40 applicants, including non educators, as they aim for a “bulletproof” hire.
