Rockport woman starts community garden
Judy Sanders 61 started Aransas County Community Garden after seeing a TV story of hardship and volunteers. The nonprofit won a five year lease at Mathis Park, with about 100 4 by 8 foot raised plots for community use. Plots are first come first served with wheel chair accessible beds and modest annual fees or volunteer time. Volunteers will supply tools soil and plans to teach gardening.
