Recall vote looms for Cleveland Mayor Kucinich
Cleveland voters face a pivotal recall on Sunday nine months after Dennis J. Kucinich took office. The 31-year-old mayor, facing strong opposition from major newspapers, City Council and unions, defends his record amid financial crises, 26 vetoes, and clashes with police chief Hongisto. Polls show a tight race with undecideds. The outcome could reshape Cleveland politics and its handling of a looming debt and school funding pressures.
