Von Braun and crew left clouded WWII past in space legacy
Huntsville, Ala. AP reports that Wernher von Braun and about a dozen of his German rocket team, now in their 80s and 90s, shaped U S space exploration from Fort Bliss to Redstone Arsenal. Their V-2 work for Nazi Germany taints a record with prisoners of war and harsh conditions, while their U S achievements include manned flight and lunar programs.
