Monitoring gaps tied to flood deaths in Hill Country
An on site review by a National Weather Service disaster survey team suggests more rainfall and river level monitoring stations could have improved warnings during the Aug 12 flash floods in Bandera Kerr and Kendall counties. The 24 deaths led to calls for enhanced early notices though evacuations helped limit the toll.
