Escaped Midland inmate recaptured after manhunt
Tyrie Atrell Andrews, 18, escaped from Midland County Central Detention Center Saturday and was arrested Monday night at 2303 North Main Street in Midland. A detective spotted him near Big Spring Street and Scharbauer Drive, leading to a perimeter and a K-9 search that tracked him to a backyard shed. He faced charges of escape from a secure facility evading arrest and unauthorized vehicle use, with bond pending. Overcrowding prompted the tent jail, open to the street, where the escape occurred.
