Hell Michigan comic mirrors town’s grim legends and gore
A Tennessee creator launches Funnel Cloud 9 to publish Hell Michigan a comic set in a real town near Detroit. The debut issue depicts violence including a pregnant wife killing her husband and a self inflicted shooting as locals uncover a spreading evil led by a clairvoyant heroine. The fictional Hell boasts a mayor and 19,199 residents, contrasting with the real town’s 250 people and lack of formal government.
