Family of Muslim teen sues over homemade clock arrest
The family of Ahmed Mohammed filed a federal lawsuit against Irving ISD, the city of Irving, and the principal alleging civil rights violations after the 14 year old was arrested for a homemade clock at his Dallas area high school. The suit seeks damages and names the district, city, and principal. The family had moved to Qatar, citing threats, and Ahmed later returned to the U S for the summer before planning to start 10th grade at Qatar Academy in Doha.
