BLOTTER: Local police report burglary fraud and injury cases
A list of police reports notes a burglary of a vehicle in the 4200 block of John Ben Shepperd Parkway Boulevard with $1,650 in stereo gear taken between 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday. Another entry cites fraudulent use of identifying information involving the husband’s name and SSN in the 4100 block of Melody Lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday. A check drawn on a closed account was attempted at Transmission Service and Supply. Rentway reports hindering recovery of $2,055 in rented equipment by pawning it on Tuesday. An injury to a child is recorded for the 900 block of Kelly Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Midland man dies in tractor-trailer crash near Sweetwater
A 35 year old Midland man Dennis Winfrey Jr. was killed when a 1995 Mack tractor-trailer struck the back of his 1994 pickup on I-20 west of Sweetwater. He died at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene at 2 p.m. Jorge Carmona of Abilene drove the truck and was unhurt. DPS reports say Winfrey signaled and moved into the left lane before the collision around 10:15 a.m.
