Pentagon gunman thwarted by security officer
A man with a loaded 9 mm pistol entered the Pentagon in the morning. Security Officer Christopher Freeman wrestled away the weapon after Maestas drew it and demanded to see the admiral in charge. Maestas, a 36 year old from West Covina California, possessed 130 rounds and had a criminal record. FBI and Defense Protective Service questioned him as he awaited arraignment in Alexandria Virginia.
