Jobs data shows more Americans returning to work
The economy is pulling people off the sidelines with rising employment. After a period of discouraged job seekers, 2017 saw continued hiring gains with about 184 thousand jobs a month through July, and the 25 to 54 age group reaching 81.8 percent labor force participation, the highest since December 2010. The unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in 2000, but economists warn near term inflation risks if unemployment drops further.
