Palmer bonds worthless in Toledo misstep by mayor

Mayor Doug DeGood signed a bond with the name Admiral Palmer DeGood by mistake while approving more than 2,000 bonds. Bond No 29 for 5000 dollars traveled to Cleveland and back, with no city seal. The Admiral Palmer referenced is Adm. Frederick Palmer, commander of the fourth Naval district, planned to visit Toledo on a Great Lakes destroyer tour.
