Odessa Animal Control hosts Paws in the Park at Sherwood Park from 1 to 6 p m with dog contests demonstrations food trucks and adoptions benefiting local animals. Officials: Dogs involved in mauling euthanized
The two pit bull mixes that mauled a 67 year old Odessa grandmother last month have been euthanized and the case sent to the Ector County District Attorney for review. The dogs, released to the Odessa Police Department by owners Aurelio Hernandez-Leyva and Maria Quintero-Leyva, were put down after an attack July 8 on Juanita Rodriguez.

Three arrested on Odessa robbery charges
Odessa police say a 17 year old parolee, Leon Flores, faces 15 counts after a robbery on Wilson Street tied to two underage suspects. A chase in a stolen Ford Fusion ended when it crashed. Flores and three other suspects were arrested and a fourth remains at large. The two minors were taken to the youth center. officers recovered a handgun and stolen items.
