Convicted brothers receive prison terms in separate trials
Richard Hignojos, 23, was found guilty of four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for an October 2009 shooting after being kicked out of a party. He received 16 years in prison. His brother Sunny Hignojos, already convicted on murder and related charges in a separate January 2010 case, faces 92 years to be served consecutively plus an evading arrest term of two years concurrent. Edgar Madrid Olmos was sentenced to 20 years for burglary of a habitation after pleading guilty to a separate April 200 burglary case. Armendariz received five years for his role.

Woman charged with injury to child in slapping case
Bonnie Creel 19 of Garden Dale was arrested on an injury to a child charge after authorities say she slapped her boyfriend's 2 year old daughter when the child would not eat. The incident occurred while the child's mother, Kacee McKinley, says Creel was watching the child.

Big Lake man shot in deputy killing held in hospital
Reagan County Deputy Josh Mitchell was fatally shot Wednesday evening as Marcus Wade Madison son 42 was taken into custody after a 17 hour standoff in Big Lake. Madison faces attempted capital murder charges and potential upgrade. Authorities say he shot himself during the confrontation and remains under guard outside Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo as the investigation continues.
