Sturgis Rally Sees No Indication of Gangs Amid Attention

Authorities and bikers say there is no intelligence of outlaw motorcycle gangs planning violence at the 75th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis South Dakota, despite heavy security. Officials note Waco shootings have heightened focus and riders may stay low key while planning events proceed with large expected crowds. Detective Dan Satterlee of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation cites robust resources committed to the rally. Sturgis police chief says security plans remain steady since 1995 as organizers anticipate attendance exceeding one million.
