In Cheyenne Wyoming rescuers searched a flooded creek for bodies as a severe thunderstorm caused flash flooding. The toll rose to at least 12 dead with dozens injured including a deputy and a girl he attempted to save. A woman and her two dogs died in a basement. Authorities were displaced by flooding and hail halted normal operations.
Odessa police and city officials discuss escort services operating from homes and motels, advertising in papers while some workers deny vice roles. Reports detail arrests, past cases, and ongoing investigations as officials note a decline yet ongoing activity and entrapment allegations.
Delta spokesman Jim Ewing reported a plane crash in heavy rain about a quarter mile north of the runway at the Dallas Fort Worth area airport. FAA officials in Washington and Atlanta described witness reports of lightning on final approach and noted possible wind shear. Fog and smoke filled the scene as wreckage strewn across a large area. Elsewhere Texas sees many 90s to 100s, isolated storms in the northeast, and widespread heat across West and South Texas with varied lows and highs through Sunday.
