Pastor pleads guilty to wife’s suffocation murder

Monahans district court records show Rev. Joseph Loduca Jr., 31, a newly installed St. Paul Lutheran Church pastor, pleaded guilty to suffocating his wife Mary Ellen Loduca on July 12. He received a 30 year sentence after a plea agreement, waived indictment, and admission of the crime.

AIDS myths spread faster than virus says official

A Texas health official told Odessa health care providers that AIDS myths outrun the virus. Tommy Langham, a disease intervention specialist, warned that local risks center on communicable diseases carried by AIDS patients rather than AIDS itself. In the 17 county Permian Basin, nine people with AIDS have been recorded, eight of whom died, with up to 60 locals believed to carry the virus and about 20 percent showing ARC.

Perkins guilty plea fuels local political reflection in Odessa

Odessa figures react to Thomas Perkins guilty plea for stealing televisions and video gear.
