Faith on Trial examines evidence for the resurrection
Pamela Binnings Ewen, a Houston lawyer and former skeptic, summarizes her research in Faith on Trial. She tests Jesus’s existence, crucifixion, and bodily resurrection against federal court evidentiary standards. The book, inspired by Simon Greenleaf, weighs conservative and liberal gospel views, cites Robinson, and argues for early dating with caution about fragmentary first century texts.

Growth and Move Keep Life Challenge Church Expanding
The Life Challenge United Pentecostal Church in Odessa traces its roots to 1958 when Marjorie and Howard Smelser started a small Southside church. Since 1999 in a West 13th Street site and a 4500 N Grandview Ave new sanctuary, attendance rose from seven to over 500, with plans to reach 1,000 in 2001 and build anew. The church adds youth and children programs, multimedia, and Route 56 and Revolution 365 outreach, while remaining community driven and member built.
