Shuttle to launch maiden space flight on Friday
Washington sets Friday as the target for the first flight of the space shuttle Columbia. Acting NASA chief Lovelace, after a readiness review at Kennedy Space Center, cautions weather could delay liftoff. The mission, with John Young and Robert Crippen aboard, aims for a 6:50 a.m. EST liftoff and a 2.5 day flight timeframe.
