National Geographic retracts Archaeoraptor findings
National Geographic and scientists conclude Archaeoraptor is a composite fossil from at least two animals. The skull trunk and forelimbs form one species, the tail from a small predatory dromaeosaur, with bones from other animals possibly mixed. The discovery still supports bird origins but not the claimed immediate link.
