He had suffered from pneumonia and collapsed on the way. funeral services will be at the Catholic church in the village. He leaves a wife and several sisters, with the community sharing their sorrow.

Drownings Spur Warnings as River Ice Fails
Joseph Mayotte, eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Mayotte, drowned in the icy Bad River near the Saw Mill after breaking through rotten ice while returning from a store.
