Ashland Young Man Fred Hill Dies at 27
Fred Hill of Ashland died last Monday evening at age 27. Son of Mr and Mrs John Hill he lived in the village for years and worked as a clerk for J S Stearns Ltr Co and in the planing mill. He later served as camp clerk in Bessemer Michigan. Survived by sister Mrs Rose Tracy Plumber Idaho and brothers Len and Will of Ashland. Funeral held yesterday afternoon from his home with many mourners attending.

Death of Adam Scott Jr. at Birch Farm
Adam Scott Jr. died Sunday evening at his home in the village from an apoplexy stroke after months of illness. He was about 35, leaves a wife and several children, and had a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Catholic Church with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. He was the eldest son of Adam Scott Sr. and was born on the reservation. He owned a fine Birch farm but could not work it due to illness. He is survived by his father, a brother, wife, and children.
