Newspaper woman Kitty Gray finds half a broken coin in a curio shop and follows its inscription to Gretzhoffen. Under her editor’s orders she chases the mystery, with adventures beginning upon arrival in the principality.
Kitty battles threats in a subterranean chase for a coin with Frederick. Rolean and Landozi rescue her as Blake imprisons Frederick while the fleeing group rides toward the desert edge. A deadly car crash follows a cliffside chase before Kitty returns to the Ritz and contemplates freeing a captured ally.
In a forest lodge Count Sachio and allies debate the Gretzhoffen coin plot. Rudolph the messenger is blamed for failures while plans focus on locating the two halves held by a young American woman and Count Frederick. They vow to recover both halves to fuel war and restore monarchic power.
Kitty restores the coin by discovering a hidden trio of secret drawers in a nobleman’s desk. She retrieves the king’s half and matches the halves for the first time, but a hidden gun in Roleau’s hands interrupts as she calls for help. The scene ends with danger looming in the palace.
