Election in Oakes elects Kent county superintendent

The June 20 1890 Oakes Weekly Republican reports the Oakes Dickey County North Dakota election where Charles A Kent defeats John Kelley by 46 votes for county superintendent of schools. Democrats mobilized women voters, while Kent leads in Hudson Tear Creek Riverdale Norway and Ellendale voting patterns. Ellendale supports Kelley. Overall 130 voters with about 60 women. Kent receives 68 votes to Kelley 62. board of education results noted.
