Mrs Galvin plans to return from James town and take charge of the property again. Judge Bowes and his wife will start east this week with Mrs Bowes remaining there. The judge intends to return mid January for the winter period.
An eye witness recounts Sitting Bull's capture at Standing Rock followed by a sudden collapse and death amid a chaotic clash with Captain Fechet's cavalry and Indian police. A volley and machine gun fire scattered the retreating warriors and ended the confrontation near the river.
