Nine months after Mrs. Joseph W. Rood gave birth to a daughter, stepson Mere Dith Jones was arrested on a charge by Miss Ida Frank of Dun kirk who lived with the Rood family. Testimony showed Jones was the father and Frank the mother, while Mrs Rood feigned confinement to preserve the lie. Jones is jailed in $500 bail.
In St Bernard Parish Louisiana a Black man named Jim Daggle alias Jim Glemly was hanged in the court yard after being found guilty by mob action for an attempted assault on a white woman Mrs Molese Sunday morning near Poydras plantation. A man on a road cart chased and aided the pursuit leading to capture and his confinement in the parish jail.
A San Diego cyclist narrowly escaped a wildcat leaping from a roadside tree. The cat chased the rider but the bicycle's speed outpaced the animal and the pursuer was soon left behind. The brief incident ends with the cyclist continuing on his ride.
